Superlite CMS
Pages

Pages are used for permanent content on your website, such as About, Contact, Services and other main sections.
Each page has its own title, URL, content, publication status and SEO settings. Pages are managed from the Pages section in the Superlite administration interface.
Viewing pages
Open Pages from the main navigation to see the pages stored in Superlite.
The page list lets you find existing pages and open them for editing. It also shows information that helps you identify the current state of each page, such as whether it is published or still a draft.
Select a page to open the editor.
Creating a page
Open Pages and choose to create a new page.
Start by entering the page title.
The title is normally used as the main heading of the page and also helps Superlite create the initial URL.
You can then add the page content using the editor.
The page does not become visible on the public website until you publish it.
Page titles
The page title identifies the page inside Superlite and is normally displayed as the main heading on the public page.
For example, a page called:
About us
could be published at:
example.com/about-us/
The visible page title and the SEO title can be different. SEO settings are managed separately, so you can use a shorter or more descriptive title for search engines when necessary.
Slugs and URLs
The slug is the part of the URL that identifies the page.
For example, in:
example.com/about-us/
the slug is:
about-us
Superlite can create a slug based on the page title, but you can change it when necessary.
Use short and descriptive slugs that make sense to both visitors and search engines.
Two published pages cannot use the same public URL.
Changing a page URL
You can change the slug of an existing page.
If the page has already been published, changing the slug also changes its public URL.
For example:
example.com/services/
could become:
example.com/our-services/
Changing a URL can affect existing links, bookmarks and search engine results.
Superlite can therefore create a permanent 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one.
This allows visitors and search engines using the old address to reach the new page.
Always review the redirect when changing the URL of an established page.
Editing content
Pages use the Superlite content editor.
Content is divided into blocks. Depending on the available editor features, blocks can contain text, headings, images, lists, quotes, tables and other content types.
Click inside a block to edit it.
You can add new blocks as you build the page and move or remove existing blocks when required.
The editor is covered in more detail in the separate Editor guide.
Saving drafts
A page can be saved as a draft.
Drafts are stored in Superlite but are not published on the public website.
This allows you to create a page gradually without making unfinished content available to visitors.
You can return to the page later and continue editing it.
Saving a draft is not the same as publishing.
Publishing a page
When the page is ready, choose Publish.
Superlite validates the content, combines it with the active theme and generates the public HTML file.
After the build completes successfully, the page becomes available at its public URL.
Publishing can also update other parts of the site when necessary, such as navigation related files, internal indexes or the sitemap.
Editing a published page
You can edit a page that is already published.
The existing public version remains available while you make your changes.
Editing the content does not immediately replace what visitors see.
When you are satisfied with the changes, publish the page again.
Superlite then generates a new version of the public HTML file and replaces the previous version.
This makes it possible to prepare changes without showing unfinished work on the live site.
Unpublishing a page
If you no longer want a page to be publicly available, you can remove it from publication.
The page content remains stored in Superlite so that it can be edited or published again later.
Before removing an established page, consider whether visitors or search engines may still use its URL.
If the content has moved to another page, creating a 301 redirect is usually appropriate.
Archiving pages
Pages that should no longer be actively used can be archived.
Archiving keeps the content in Superlite without treating it as current published content.
This can be useful when you want to preserve old material without permanently deleting it.
Deleting a page
A page can be deleted when it is no longer needed.
Before deleting a published page, consider what should happen to its URL.
If another page replaces the deleted content, create a 301 redirect from the old URL to the replacement page.
Deleting content should be used carefully because the original page may no longer be available for editing afterwards.
Previewing a page
Preview lets you inspect how a page will look before publishing it.
This is useful for checking headings, images, links, layout and other content before making changes public.
The preview uses the current page content and the relevant theme layout.
Publishing is still required before the new version becomes visible to normal visitors.
Choosing a page layout
Themes can provide different layouts for pages.
When more than one compatible layout is available, Superlite can allow you to choose which layout the page should use.
The theme controls the actual design.
Changing a layout does not change the original page content. It changes how the content is rendered on the public website.
Available layouts depend on the active theme.
Setting the homepage
One published page can be selected as the homepage of the website.
The homepage is the page shown at the main domain, for example:
example.com/
You can choose the homepage in the Superlite settings.
The selected page keeps its content inside Superlite, but its public version is generated for the root address of the website.
Changing the homepage does not delete the previous homepage.
After changing the setting, Superlite rebuilds the affected public files so that the selected page becomes the new homepage.
Pages and navigation
Creating a page does not necessarily mean that it automatically appears in a menu.
Navigation is managed separately.
This allows you to have published pages that are accessible through links without including them in the main navigation.
To add a page to a menu, open the Navigation section and select the page you want to include.
Menu management is covered in the Navigation guide.
Pages and SEO
Each page can have its own SEO settings.
These can include an SEO title, meta description, canonical URL, robots settings and information used when the page is shared on social platforms.
If you leave some fields empty, Superlite can use standard values based on the page and the global site settings.
SEO settings are covered in detail in the SEO guide.
